Secret to success:

I read hard and prayed hard. I especially paid attention to the revision classes at MAT and did a lot of practice questions from the revision kits by BPP. The ACCA technical articles on the website and the past examination examiner’s approach publications were of great use too. All these helped me to pass my examinations at first attempt relied mostly on personal reading towards the exams making use of any time I could steal away from work despite my wacky reading style and for that I am grateful to God.

Lastly, I attribute my success to my discussion group with whom I have been discussing since campus.

First Degree Course:

Agricultural Land Use and Management @ Makerere University

Secret to success:

I was lucky to join Ernst and Young Uganda in September 2010 despite having a totally unrelated degree in Agricultural Land Use and Management at Makerere University and embarked on the qualification in December 2011 Uganda. My goal was to complete the course in three years. Given the hectic schedule, heavy work load and travel at Ernst and Young, I attended a few classes. I relied mostly on personal reading towards the exams making use of any time I could steal away from work despite my wacky reading style and for that I am grateful to God.

Prayer, commitment, hard work and a very supportive work place and social environment. PWC gives a firm basis for anyone to excel in ACCA. In addition, the knowledge obtained from class can be directly applied to the work wedoonadaily basis. This creates a great learning environment for us to study and learn each day. The firm also gives us study leave which is very helpful for revision towards the exams and also rewards us each time we pass. Discussion of revision questions with my classmates and the revision classes which were key in helping me pass my exams. My family and friends gave me the support I needed even when the going was very tough.

ACCA Commencement Year:

Institute of Study:

MAT

Secret to success:

ACCA requires a considerable amount of commitment, I think the sooner one realizes that the higher his/her chances of getting it right the first time. I made it a point to use the study leave to catch up on all the material I had missed out on during the semester on account of my work schedule. In the end preparation is really what makes the difference, and a good attitude never hurt any one’s chances either.

First Degree Course:

Bachelor’s in Business Administration @ Makerere University

Secret to success:

In my opinion, ACCA is not hard like everyone says it is, it is actually very simple. All one needs to Master is the Art of reading and applying the content in a smart way. I started doing ACCA right after my Bachelor’s in Business Administration from Makerere University. Three Major secrets to my success. Prayer, I used to attend all lessons to the end, ensured that I inquire from the facilitators all the concepts and steps that I didn’t understand for clarity and always read that topic immediately after lectures for clarity.
